BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF BET SHEMESH BASEBALL
JORDY ALTER
President Bet Shemesh Baseball
Jordy Alter founded Beit Shemesh Baseball in 2004 with one conviction: every kid in Beit Shemesh deserves to play the game they love. Two decades later, the program he built serves 187 players across four competitive divisions and is completing a world-class JNF-funded baseball field. Jordy also serves as President of the Israel Association of Baseball.
DR. DANI WEICHOLZ
Rosh HaAmuta | Chairman, Bet Shemesh Baseball
Dr. Dani Weicholz has been part of the Bet Shemesh Baseball family for many years, with several of his own children growing up through the program. He has dedicated countless hours to coaching, having coached nearly all of his children over the years. His longstanding involvement has given him a deep appreciation for the importance of youth sports and the positive impact baseball has on our community.
Professionally, Dani is a board certified periodontist with advanced training from Columbia University and an established dental practice in Bet Shemesh. He has also been actively involved in community service, including volunteer work with Lema'an Achai.
As Rosh HaAmuta, Dani brings together his professional experience, community involvement, and years of dedication to Bet Shemesh Baseball. He looks forward to supporting the continued growth and development of the program and helping create opportunities for future generations of players.
ELI RUTENBERG
CEO of Bet Shemesh Baseball
Eli Rutenberg made aliyah to Beit Shemesh and became part of the program immediately — first as a Juveniles coach, then Regional Director, and now CEO. Eli leads all US partnership and donor outreach for Beit Shemesh Baseball and is the primary contact for American organizations interested in partnering, donating, or connecting with the program.
ABOUT US
Since 2004, Beit Shemesh Baseball has provided young athletes in Israel with a home, a team, and the game they love. Our program serves 187 players across four divisions, ages 6–18. For families who have made aliyah from America and Canada, baseball offers a familiar connection as they build their lives in Israel. We teach sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence, and no child is turned away because their family cannot afford to pay.
